If you are interested in serving your community as an elected official, the last day to file for a place on the ballot is Feb. 17 at 5 p.m.
Local political subdivisions, such as cities, schools, hospitals, water districts, and any other local government entity that conducts elections, will have their regular, general elections on May 6. Special elections to fill vacancies will also take place. Early voting is April 24-May 2.
Information regarding what vacancies, terms, and applications will be posted at each local political subdivision. Those interested cannot file for a place on the ballot with the county election office, but the Election Administration can assist with where interested persons should file.
It is encouraged to check one’s voter registration before filing.
“Most applications for candidacy require you to be a registered voter for that territory,” the county election office said in a prepared release.
