EAGLE LAKE — A task force composed of investigators from several local departments apprehended and booked a trio of alleged drug distributors in Eagle Lake in the early morning on Feb. 1 according to police.
Frank Cantu Sr., 63, Frank Cantu Jr., 33 and Deborah Cantu, 55, were charged with the manufacture and/or delivery of a controlled substance.
Members of the Austin County Regional Special Response team and the Texas Department of Public Safety Special Response team combined forces with the Westside Narcotics Task Force and Eagle Lake Police Department to fulfill and execute the warrants for two residences in Eagle Lake. The trio was found at a home in the 200 block of Allen Street and in the 500 block of East Union Street.
The three suspects were arrested for their alleged involvement in drug distribution at the respective residences.
During the arrest, police seized and confiscated methamphetamine located in the homes. The warrants and resulting arrests were the culmination of an ongoing investigation into the reports of narcotics being distributed from the two homes.
Law enforcement successfully booked each of the suspects into the Colorado County Jail to await further trial proceedings.
The Westside Narcotics Task Force is the combined force of the Drug Enforcement Agency, the Sheriff’s Offices from Austin County, Colorado County, Fayette County and Waller County, and the police departments from Bellville, Sealy and Hempstead.
