St. Anthony recognizes Catholic Schools Week

Catholic Schools Week is here, and this year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community.”

One of the community’s endeavors that St. Anthony has taken on during the week is The Blessing Box Project.

A Blessing Box is made with love and given to mastectomy patients. It contains a special pillow for comfort and a drain shirt with inside pockets that slips on with ease.

The Blessing Boxes are free, with those needing them receiving them as gifts.

During Catholic Schools Week, St. Anthony students are donating money for supplies and purchasing items from their Amazon wish list.

The St. Anthony School sewing class is also making pillows for the boxes. For those who know someone who could use a Blessing Box, please visit the website blessingboxproject. com. For those interested in helping the project, the 3rd Annual Blessing Box Sew-In Retreat will be held at St. Roch in Mentz on March 23 and March 24.

There will be an early release on Friday, Feb. 2 at noon. On Feb. 4, St. Roch CDA Court no. 2328 is holding their annual Turkey and Dressing meal at Mentz. Beginning at 11 a.m., dine in or drive thru; advanced tickets are not needed.

On Feb. 5, CHS Counselors will be on campus to meet with St. Anthony 8th graders for freshmen class scheduling.

Also on Feb. 5, the B boys basketball team will play against Our Lady of the Gulf at 5:30 p.m. on the road.

Classroom group pictures will be held on Feb. 7.

“Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)
