The Columbus Lady Cardinals split their last two games losing one and winning the other but still remain in the hunt to secure a playoff spot.

Currently sitting in third place the Lady Cards were defeated by the Enda Cowgirls for their third district loss but quickly bounced back with a win over the Rice Lady Raiders.

@ Edna, L, 56-41

To start their week off the Lady Cards traveled to Enda to take on the Cowgirls on their home court.

Heading into hostile territory on the road and beating the Cowgirls once already at the Weimar tournament they knew it was going to be a tough game to win. Sure enough, from the opening tip the Lady Cards were looking at an entirely different team than the one they saw at the Weimar tournament.

The Lady Cards did everything they could a played well enough to win but the Cowgirls were on a mission to get their win back from the Lady Cards. The Cowgirls kept their foot on the gas the whole game and kept the tenacious Lady Cards team at bay to secure the win.

Vs. Rice, W, 53-25

Returning home with a loss, the Lady Cards saw their next game as a must win to keep themselves alive in the playoff race.

The Lady Raiders came into Columbus and the Lady Cards returned to form to get themselves back in the win column. The Lady Raiders struggled to get anything past the Lady Cards defense which allowed the Lady Cards to do what they do best.

The Lady Cards began taking the ball away and spread the floor out well to get open looks at the basket to extend their lead. The Lady Cards set things on cruise control in the second half and secured their sixth district victory of the season to elevate them to third place.

With plenty of games still left and a tight race for playoff spots the Lady Cards are focused on the next game when they travel to Yoakum where opening tip-off is set for 6:15 p.m.
