The deadline for voter registration with the Colorado County Elections Office is February 05, 2024.
• You are eligible to register to vote if:
• You are a United States citizen;
• You are a resident of the county where you submit the application;
• You are at least 17 years and 10 months old, and you are 18 years of age on Election Day.
• You are not a convicted felon (you may be eligible to vote if you have completed your sentence, probation, and parole); and
• You have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.
Voter Registration does not expire. However, for those who have recently moved, please make sure the most current information is on file. This could directly impact your eligibility to vote in local elections.

Being a poll worker is a critical service to the public. Colorado County is always looking for Election Officials such as judges, alt. judges, clerks, bi-lingual clerks, student clerks, etc.
In the March 5, 2024 joint Primary, there is a particularly urgent need for new volunteers to step up to staff the polls. Poll workers are scheduled in advance, so the Elections Office is hoping to staff these positions as soon as possible.
Eligibility
• Must be able to work from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on election day (hours vary)
• Must be able to read and speak English.
• Must be registered to vote in Colorado County (except for students)
• Student workers must be 16 and get parent permission • Must complete training and a criminal background check.
Duties
• Set up voting equipment, poll books and other material at designated polling district.
• Assist voters with sign-in and verify signature.
• If necessary, assist voters in the operation of the electronic voting machine.
• Answer voter’s procedural questions.
• When necessary complete paperwork.
• Close polls at the end of the day.
