COLUMBUS — The Colorado County Commissioners Court voted to keep adding cables and towers to increase the connectivity of network services.
Colorado Valley Telephone continues to fulfill the Commissioners request to bury fiber optic cable in precinct 2 to improve network connection in the area. The next roads in their project are County Roads 201, 204, 205, 208 and 220. CVT will also work on Kovar Road and Secates Road in precinct 3 after the Commissioners approved their application submission.
The Court approved the specifications to send to companies for bids for several county services such as road paving, road materials, asphalt, herbicides and fuel for county vehicles, the Sheriff’s Department and Emergency Service Vehicles. The Commissioners will be advertising for bids in the coming weeks as they seek companies to submit offers for each of the services they are requesting.
The Commissioners resolved to submit a grant application to provide funding for the Colorado Communications Connectivity and Maintenance Project required by the Homeland Security grant.
Commissioner Doug Wessels continued his appointment as County representative to serve as director for Community Action Agency Governing Board.
Jail and Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 office are to be finished with their construction and their inspection by the next Commissioners Court meeting.
The next Court meeting will be on Monday, Feb. 12.
