Rice CISD leaders were among the presenters at the TASA Mid-Winter Conference, Jan. 29-Feb. 1, in Austin. Superintendent Bill Hefner, Assistant Superintendent Melody Grigar and education consultant Matt Pope, CEO of EdPact, led a presentation titled “Rice CISD: Implementing Learning Systems in a Rural District.”
In their session, Rice leaders shared how they created a learning framework with their administrative team over the past year. According to a release, the framework articulates leadership’s beliefs and systems for delivery of curriculum, instruction and assessment across the district.
“It serves to unify practices across campuses while still allowing some local autonomy to fit the needs of diverse campuses,” Grigar said. “The framework will become a tool for onboarding new administrators and teachers and can be revised as needed in the future.”
