The Weimar Ladycats dropped back-to-back district games this past week but remain in the fourth and final playoff sports.

The Ladycats lost to Bloomington and Shiner this past week and both losses put the Ladycats on the edge of missing playoffs.

Vs. Bloomington, L, 52-35

Starting their week off the Ladycats came out the gate slow against Bloomington.

Bloomington took full advantage and put points on the board early and often. This served as a wakeup call for the Ladycats and their offense and defense quickly tightened up.

They began cutting into Bloomington’s lead but could not get over the hump to tie things up. The Ladycats made one final push at the end of the game, but the Bloomington lead was too large to overcome and would be handed a 17-point loss.

The Ladycats put this game in the rearview and looked ahead to their game with Shiner.

@ Shiner, L, 65-32

Still feeling the effects out their first double digit loss in district play the Ladycats rolled into Shiner ready to get back on track with a win.

Shiner was not just going to give them a win and like Bloomington established an early and large lead. The Ladycats again scratched and clawed to try to find a way back into the game but were unsuccessful.

The Ladycats came out flat and struggled to find their footing in the game which led to Shiner scoring at will it seemed like to start the game. Shiner’s lead was insurmountable later in the game and the Ladycats were handed a 33-point loss to end their week.

The losses put some pressure on the Ladycats and their playoff expectations, but they are excited to start their next game and try to get back in the win column.

Their next game comes against Schulenburg on Friday, Jan. 26, on the road ready to erase those two losses from people’s minds.
