ELVERA MOELLER SCHMIDT

Elvera Moeller Schmidt, 75, of Columbus, Texas, passed away on Jan. 2, 2024 in Columbus, Texas.

She was born on Nov. 18, 1948 to Frank Henry Moeller and Lillie Franziska (Maeckel) Moeller in Bellville, Texas. On Oct. 29, 1972 she married David Gene Schmidt.

Elvera was the co-owner and operator of Columbus Television & Appliance with her husband David.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger.

Elvera enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, participating in church activities, cooking and baking, and reading.

Elvera is survived by her husband of 51 years, David Schmidt; sons Kevin Schmidt and wife Janie and Craig Schmidt and wife Becky; grandchildren Madeline Schmidt and Devon Schmidt; step-grandchildren Joe Luke Petrenella and Brooke Petrenella; sisters Leona Schramm and husband Herbert and Mary Ann Mikulenka and husband Ricky; brother Leland Moeller and wife Marilyn; brother-in-law Bobbie Schmidt and wife Ruth; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lillie Moeller; an infant sister Madeline Moeller; father-in-law Leroy Schmidt and mother-inlaw Hilda Schmidt.

Funeral service was Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger, Texas with Fr. Steve Sauser officiating. Visitation was from noon to 2 p.m. with a rosary starting at 1:30 p.m.

Burial took place in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Ellinger, Texas.

Pallbearers were Craig Schmidt, Kevin Schmidt, Devon Schmidt, Joe Luke Petrenella, Rodney Mikulenka, and Douglas Schmidt.
