Local church to celebrate 125th anniversary

COLUMBUS — The New Greater Smith Chapel Baptist Church at 833 Preston St. will be celebrating a major milestone on Sunday, Jan. 14 as they host their 125th church anniversary at 3 p.m. following their normal Sunday service.

Pastor Joseph Hargrove extends an open invitation to those in the area who desire to join the celebration for the historic church.

The program will feature a sermon by guest pastor Murray Martin from Holman Street Baptist Church in Houston.

The program’s theme is “The Church Where the Lord is Doing a New Thing.”
