COLUMBUS — The communities of Columbus Oaks Health Care and Tru Care Living Center benefitted from the third annual blanket drive hosted by a group of charitable residents in the area on Dec. 22.

The charity group led by Melissa Green acquired 185 blankets to donate to the seniors receiving care at the Columbus based facilities. Green, along with Leigh Hastedt, Tricia Fleck and Jacque Beane, received donations from residents all over Columbus before donating the gifts to the respective facilities.

The group hopes to make next year’s drive an even larger production as they plan to include senior care facilities in Weimar and Eagle Lake as well.

The charity drive received 185 blankets from Columbus residents to help give one to each resident in the selected communities.
