The Huddle
Hello, everyone and welcome back to The Huddle, it’s been a while, and I am catching you guys right before a holiday, but that is exactly what I wanted to talk about.
I wanted to start this up by saying I know I am still kind of new to the Columbus area, but you guys have welcomed me in with open arms. In the spirit of the holiday I wanted to thank everyone for making me feel as though I belong here because this season has been very fun, and I look forward to covering these local sports teams in 2024 and getting to know you guys a little bit more.
Now, back to business, this is the best time of the year for the human species because the spirit of Christmas is in the air, and everyone must literally try to frown.
I mean think about it we all get a little break from work or school you get to drink eggnog (or whatever is that glass that we don’t have to talk about) eat snacks and great meals that our family members cook and on top of that they give you a gift to reward you for just being you all year long.
Now some people like to add stress to this holiday for some reason and I understand why the stress is there. With Gifts, cooking, making it to the family gathering on time and for some people they could be working.
So I understand the stress my thing is, just throw it in neutral for the holiday, just take some time to slow things down and take a second to just appreciate and love the people that are around because that is actually what this time of year is about.
My favorite part of Christmas is being able to see all of my cousins because I don’t get to see them oftne but when we can we make sure we cut up and make some memories.
I mean hanging out with people you love that you have not seen in a while, what can beat that?
And after you do all that and complete all of the Christmas festivities there is a little bit of lull while everyone recovers to get their social battery juiced back up. They need that social battery charged up because just a week after Christmas you are legally allowed to blow things up in a residential area.
Even the law enforcement gets in on the fun of popping fireworks because it is just the perfect time to do it. The weather is cold, people are in a good head space because they just experienced Christmas and there is a clean slate for everyone because 2024 is going to be a great year for all of us.
