The Rice Raiders picked up back-to-back wins to extend their winning streak to four games.

The Raiders have been carrying momentum over from the Flatonia tournament and defeated Moulton and Hallettsville.

@ Moulton, W, 56-51

The Raiders took on the Moulton Bobkatz on Tuesday, Dec. 12, as their first game since going 4-1 at a recent tournament.

Moulton was also coming off a strong tournament showing, and both teams were ready to test each other. Defensively the two teams struggled to keep the other from scoring early on in the game.

The two offenses were flying all over the court to start the game and executed to perfection. At halftime defensive adjustments were made and the teams tightened up.

The Raiders were able to do just enough in the second half to establish a lead then their defense closed out the game.

With another win secured the Raiders now shift their focus to Hallettsville to close out their week on the road.

@ Hallettsville, W, 58-41 The Raiders kept things chugging right along against the Hallettsville Brahmas as they picked up their fourth win in a row.

The Raiders again wasted no time showcasing their offense and their ability to score at will while their defense kept the same mindset from the last game against Moulton. The Raiders defense applied a bunch of pressure to the Brahmas and forced them into a lot of fouls and turnovers because of it.

That is the Raiders game plan is to make the opposing offense uncomfortable, get them taking shots they don’t normally take and force turnovers. The Raiders offense took full advantage of every mistake and were able to enjoy the bus ride home with a win in their pocket.

The Raiders now look ahead to their next game on Wednesday, Dec. 20, when they will take on Van Vleck on their home court.
