WPD Chief gives Commendation at City Council meeting

WEIMAR — At the most recent City Council meeting, Police Chief Mark Jameson established a new tradition for exemplary police work in the area with police commendation awards.

The idea of police commendations is not a new concept as departments around the nation celebrate their officers with official declarations highlighting their feats and accomplishments.

Officer Keith Llanes earned the honor from Chief Jameson for his quick-thinking during a structure fire. Llanes entered the building and helped evacuate the residents inside. Chief Jameson commended Officer Llanes on his bravery and his ability to act decisively during a crisis situation.
