St. Anthony Catholic School is busy celebrating the holiday season and Christmas activities are happening daily.

Several St. Anthony students lent their angelic voices to the Columbus Community Choir’s presentation of Jesus! The Advent of the Messiah on Dec. 10.

The 4K class will visit the Santa Claus Museum on Dec. 15. On Dec. 19, the Early Childhood classes will hold their annual Christmas Pageant at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria.

The Junior High will have their Christmas Dance on Dec. 19 and go caroling at local nursing homes on Dec. 20.

On Dec. 5, The Daughters of the Republic of Texas brought their Pioneer Life Trunk for the 4th graders to learn about some items from that era and what life was like for kids their age. Donna Pustejovsky and Susan Townzen gave students a hands-on experience with items such as toys, tools and clothing.

St. Anthony families have been generously donating new or gently used blankets to the Blanket Drive benefitting the Homeless Coalition of the Golden Crescent in Victoria. This service project will help keep the less fortunate warm during the upcoming winter months.

The Saints basketball teams will take on St. Philip at home on Dec. 14 starting at 5 p.m. with the C Boys team. The weekly Children’s mass will be held Friday, Dec. 15 at 8:15 a.m.

“Therefore the Lord himself will give you this sign: the virgin shall be with child, and bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel,” Isaiah 7:14.
