The Lady Cardinals had three seniors named to the All-State Volleyball team with one of them making the Legacy All-Star team.

Ember Mandola, Sage Thomas and Ally Tribe were all named to the All-State Volleyball team for Class 3A.

Starting things off is Tribe making the All-State Team and the Legacy All-Star team. Tribe’s name has become synonymous with Lady Cards volleyball and for good reason.

Among countless other accolades Tribe is currently the all-time leader in career kills at Columbus High School and was the heartbeat for the Lady Cards offense. Tribe drew a lot of attention from opposing defenses but despite that she was still one of the best players in the state.

Tribe would sometimes have three blockers sin her face but would somehow rack up kills as well as contribute defensively with digs and blocks. Tribe could be put in any position for the Lady Cards and be successful, but she would be the first to say she could not have done it without her teammates and coaches.

Thomas was one of, if not the best setter in the state in volleyball, racking up assists in every game she played in. This led to her holding the record for most career assists for the Lady Cards.

Thomas would have anywhere from 20-40 assists in every game but also contributed on defense as well being one of the leaders on the team in digs. Mandola was another great defensive asset for the Lady Cards as she was also near the top when it came to digs and blocks.

Mandola was also one of the hardest hitters in the state, spiking the ball with authority in the face of opponents. Mandola would take advantage of the open court when defenses would shift their focus to Tribe.

Mandola was also an effective server throughout the season and helped the Lady Cards build string leads because of it.

These three seniors will be missed but for now congratulations are in order for everything they accomplished while representing the Lady Cards for the last four years.
