On Dec. 2, four Faith Academy Knights travelled to Allen Academy in Bryan for the TAIAO All-Star game. Coaches from around the league vote on the players they believed to be some of the best at their respective positions this season. Senior Luke Wicklein, junior Travis Woodley, sophomore Jackson Dunn, and sophomore Christian Pillow were voted to compete. Senior Noah Figueroa earned a spot in the game but couldn’t attend.
The Knights had a great showing. Woodley ended the game with 15 tackles, a fumble recovery, and an INT on defense. He also had a 26-yard rushing TD on offense as well. Jackson Dunn was voted in on his wide receiver play throughout the year. He had 2 TD catches in the game; one from 38 yards and one from 29 yards. He also had a 40-yard reception from Pillow on the first big play of the game. Pillow finished the game, going 3 for 6 passing for 65 yards. Wicklein, who played running back for the Knights all season, played mainly cornerback on defense, made 4 tackles, as well as 2 pass deflections.
Coaches Trey Carter and Kenneth Woodley were chosen to coach the TAIAO Division II — South team for their efforts on the season. The D2-South team would go on to win the contest, 54-8. The Knights were very well represented by their outstanding play as well as how they carried themselves. Many compliments were mentioned on how hard they played. Congratulations to those players again for a great season and outstanding individual stats. Seniors, we will all miss you guys. Go Knights!
