The Weimar Wildcats competed in the Round Top-Carmine Tournament and won three of their four games.
The Wildcats only loss came in overtime to the Rice Raiders, and they only lost by three points.

The Wildcats wasted no time getting things rolling for their team to start the tournament. the Wildcats’ offense was in full control of the game from the opening tip-off and put points on the board to establish a large lead. This type of aggressive play carried over into their second game and put a lot of teams on notice.
Boling was next on the schedule for the Wildcats, and they wasted no time building their lead to start the game.

Boling and the Wildcats had a defensive battle for the ages keeping the score and the offensive opportunities low. Rebounding was a big key in this game and the Wildcats showed no fear getting into the paint and retrieving the ball.
This led to them gaining more offensive possessions and thus scoring more points than Boling while their defense stayed the course and shut down the Boling offense.
@ Rice, L, 48-45 (OT)
The second game on the schedule for the Wildcats saw them matchup with the Rice Raiders and they put on a show for the fans in attendance.
The atmosphere felt like a playoff game because the fans and the players wanted to win so bad. The game was tightly contested the entire time to where no one had space on the floor and defenders were on the ball quickly.
The teams traded leads and were tied for most of the game leading to them going into overtime. The theme of the game bled over into overtime as the two teams continued to press until they got the win.
A late three-pointer and defensive stop from the Raiders sealed the deal for them and they handed the Wildcats their first loss of the tournament.
@ Round Top-Carmine, W, 50-20
The Wildcats ended the tournament taking on the host Round Top-Carmine Cubs in their final game of the tournament.
The Wildcats returned to form against the Cubs establishing an early lead that they built on throughout the game. Defensively the Wildcats pressured the Cubs into taking bad shots and turning the ball over.
The Wildcats’ defense was also very effective when it came to stealing the ball leading to fast breaks and points that extended the lead. Coming off the loss to the Raiders the Wildcats came out against the Cubs and delivered a statement win over the host team.
With the tournament behind them the Wildcats now set their sights on their next game against the Dime Box Longhorns on Tuesday, Dec. 5, in Dime Box, TX.
