The Rice Raiders traveled to the Round Top-Carmine and went undefeated for the entire tournament.

The Raiders played four games and one all of them handily except for one where they had to win it in overtime.

@ Burton, W, 66-39

The Raiders arrived at the tournament ready to make a statement and did so by taking care of Burton in their first game.

The Raiders wasted no time setting up their offense and finding a rhythm which eventually led them to find a rhythm behind the arc. The point ball was kind to the Raiders in their first game which helped them establish lead that they rode for the entire game.

Burton had no answers for the Raiders’ and their offense put hate a surge late in the game to cut into the lead. But it was just too steep of a hill to climb, and the Raiders picked up their first win of the tournament.

@ Shiner, W, 82-50

Looking to build off of that first win the Raiders again were the aggressors to start the game and put points up on the board early and often.

Defensively the Raiders had their hands full with the Shiner offense because they cruised to 50 points but since the offense was still in the rhythm from earlier they were able to just outscore Shiner.

The Raiders defense did not play as well as they did in the first game but played a key role in the victory. Their defense came up with several steals. Blocks and rebounds that helped lead a fast break the other way and helped the team extend their lead and now their winning streak.

@ Weimar, W, 48-45 (OT)

The third game for the Raiders was one for the history books because both teams played as hard as they could to try and win this game.

The Weimar Wildcats were in the Raiders faces all game long from the opening tip off, but the Raiders were just as aggressive. The teams traded leads throughout the game but remained tied throughout.

The competitive spirit was not lost on the players in the game because the longer they stayed tied on the scoreboard the more each point meant. The clocked ticked its final seconds in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime.

The Raiders were able to score a late three pointer then got a stop on defense to help seal the win.

@ Boling, W, 82-56

The Raiders capped off their tournament experience by taking on Boling in their last game.

Coming off that close win against the Wildcats the Raiders played the exact same way they played the first two games. The aggressive play on offense again payed off in a big way because the Raiders scored 82 points on their way to their fourth win.

Looking ahead for the Raiders, they will look to extend that winning streak to five games when they take on East Bernard on Tuesday, Dec. 5, on their home court.
