It is with great sadness to announce the death of Carolyn Duyka Austin of Eagle Lake, Texas. She was 76 years old and passed away during hospice care in The Woodlands, Texas on Dec. 2, 2023.
Carolyn was born Aug. 25, 1947 in Wharton, Texas. She graduated from Eagle Lake High School and attended Wharton County Junior College. She had a professional career in banking and business management.
She was the daughter of Anton and Marie Duyka of Eagle Lake, Texas who preceded her in death. She is survived by her younger brother Greg Duyka and wife Dana of The Woodlands, Texas. Additional immediate surviving relatives include her nephew Gregory Duyka and wife Brittany and family, her niece Christine Sills and family, sisters-in-law Mary Duyka and Shirley Duyka. She was preceded in death by her two older brothers Clinton Duyka of Cypress, Texas and Anthony Duyka of Wharton, Texas. Additionally, there are many cousins, nephews and nieces in the surrounding communities.
Carolyn and her husband Larry were happily married for over 42 years. They both worked side by side tirelessly for many years to assure the success of Austin Grocery of Eagle Lake, Texas. She was always a giver and caretaker. She spent many years taking care of her parents and siblings as well as her husband, Larry, in his final years. Her gift as a servant to others was a blessing to the Lord.
A private graveside service is planned at Lakeside Cemetery, Eagle Lake, Texas.
