Weimar FFA sends seven teams to Area XI LDEs

BRENHAM – Weimar FFA was represented by seven teams competing at the Area XI FFA Leadership Development Events on Saturday, Nov. 18th at Blinn College After a successful day, three Weimar FFA teams qualified for the State Leadership Development Events by placing 1st or 2nd in their respective events. The Texas FFA State LDEs will be held on the campus of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.

BRENHAM — Weimar FFA was represented by seven teams competing at the Area XI FFA Leadership Development Events on Saturday, Nov. 18th at Blinn College After a successful day, three Weimar FFA teams qualified for the State Leadership Development Events by placing 1st or 2nd in their respective events. The Texas FFA State LDEs will be held on the campus of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.

Kelly McAfee was one of the state qualifiers, placing first in the Job Interview contest.

The Greenhand Quiz team took first place with Ruby Alamilla and Collin Morrison taking second and third place individually. Hunter Shupak took fifth place individually and contributed to the effort along with Kim Rubio, Ashlyn Villanueva, Cullen Schimcek and Madelyn Rerich.

The Chapter Ag Quiz team was the final to qualify to state for Weimar led by Bralen Heger and Erica Billeck who placed second and fifth place respectively. Aubrey Breska, Natalie Ohnheiser, Zowie Lee, Delaney Turlington, Hunter Simon, Makenzie Jackson and Christina Sierra were part of the state-qualifying effort.

The Greenhand Chapter Conducting team of Morrison, Rubio, Alamilla, Schemcek, Rerich, Shupak, Cadyn Booker, Paityn Hudec took fourth place in their competition.

McAfee, Simon, and Heger along with Dianna Vazquez, Melodey Delaney, Chloe Grifaldo, Lauren Hinze and Logan Kainer took fifth place in the Senior Chapter Conducting competition.

Leslie Jiminez and Melanie Gonzalez competed in Spanish Creed Speaking while Lily Berger, Emily Guzman, Ericka Arvizu, Maya Fain and Clara Kusak competed in the Ag Advocacy contest.
