Voter registration certificates set to expire at end of year, but renew automatically

New Voter Registration Certificates will be mailed out to all currently registered voters by Dec. 6. These new cards are yellow in color and are effective from Jan. 1, 2024 until Dec. 31, 2025. They will replace any previous Voter Registration Cards/Certificates.

New Voter Registration Certificates will be mailed out to all currently registered voters by Dec. 6. These new cards are yellow in color and are effective from Jan. 1, 2024 until Dec. 31, 2025. They will replace any previous Voter Registration Cards/Certificates.

The cards/certificates are printed with a non-forwardable postmark “RETURN SERVICE REQUESTED,” which means that if an individual’s address has changed, the post office cannot forward the certificate. There are many scenarios that can arise for a voter’s registration certificate/card to be returned by the Post Office to the County Elections Office (sender). Also, if you made changes to your voter’s registration within the last few weeks, you may get both the previous card and a newly issued replacement.

The Office will contact those individuals whose cards/certificates have been returned. If a certificate/card is returned, the individual will receive a letter from the Office advising them what steps to take. Note that the Office is not able to make changes to a voter’s record without written authorization.

For those who do not receive a new card or a letter by the end of December, please contact our office or log on to the Secretary of State website to see if you are a registered voter at votetexas.gov.

We appreciate your assistance in getting our voter registration lists up to date and ready for the March 5, 2024 primary election. For additional election information, please visit the Colorado County website, http://www.co.colorado.tx.us/page/colorado. Elections, for fast and easy access.
