The Columbus Lady Cardinals volleyball teams’ season came to an end, but they had several players named to the All-District team.

The Lady Cards had two players win individual awards and seven named to the All-District teams and 14 players named to the Academic All-District team.

Leading things off for the Lady Cards was Ally Tribe who was named the Mos Valuable player in the district after leading the district in kills and was near the top of the rankings in digs. She was joined by fellow senior Ember Mandola who was named Defensive player of the year after being one of the top blockers in the district.

Tribe and Mandola were a big part of the Lady Cards success this season, but the depth on their team was vast and now they are being noticed for it. Sage Thomas, Caylie Neisner and Gracie Schobel were all named to the First All-District team.

The trio of Lady Cards did a lot of work on the court that goes unnoticed much of the time. Thomas was one of the best setters in the state, racking at least 20 or more assists every single game.

While Neisner kept the points alive and was not scared to dive and bump a ball back up in the air where Schobel would finish the play with her outstanding athletic ability. Taylor Morrow and Clarie Klausmeyer were named to the Second All-District team, and they brought a lot of similar skills to the table.

Morrow was always right behind Tribe every game in terms of kills and was a huge part of their offense. Morrow was perfect in her role and took advantage of teams giving attention to Tribe and found the soft zones in the defense to rack up kills this season.

Klausmeyer patrolled the net for the Lady Cardinals and never backed down from any attack thrown her way. She was a dominant defensive force and earned her way to the Second All-District team.

Sophia Wolters and Ashlyn Carter were honorable mentions for the All-District rosters, and both brought an uncanny ability to be in the right spots. Wolters and Carter were a big part of the Lady Cards’ offensive and defensive scheme and made sure they did all the little things right to help their team win.

Last but certainly not least is the Academic All-District team where players are selected because they are onr of the best players in the district but also maintained a 3.5 GPA. Ellie Brown, Mary FItzgerald, Shelby Johnson, Mia Post, Ella Schneider and Sydnie Shepard join Wolters, Tribe, Thomas, Schobel, Neisner, Morrow, Mandola and Klausmeyer on the Academic All-District team.

14 players on the Lady Cards volleyball team maintained a 3.5 GPA and was one the number one team in the state during that time. The Lady Cards handled business on and off the court, especially in the classroom, which is very difficult to do as a student athlete, but it shows how great this team wanted to be.

Congratulations to the Lady Cards on a fantastic season, and congratulations to all the players named to the All-District team.
