The Weimar Ladycats defeated the Waelder Wildcats 63-7 to start their season off in dominate fashion.

The Ladycats hosted the Wildcats on Tuesday, Nov. 14, as their season and home opener and they wasted no time showing off the hard work they put into the offseason.

Defensively, the Ladycats displayed a master class and held the Wildcats to only seven points in the game. The Ladycats’ defense was aggressive and forced several turnovers and bad shots by the Wildcats.

The Ladycats kept the Wildcats’ offense to the perimeter and completely controlled the paint in their first game of the season.

This led to more offensive possessions for the Ladycats, and they took full advantage of it. The Ladycats were able to establish and remained aggressive for the rest of the game.

The Ladycats’ ball movement were able to open up several lanes to the net that were exploited. They were even able to open shooting lanes on the wings that led to some timely three-pointers.

While the offense was not completely perfect and did miss a shot here and there the Ladycats’ rebounding was on another level. The Ladycats hauled in almost every single ball that bounced off the rim and turned it into a scoring chance.

Controlling all factors of the game the Ladycats had full control of the pace of play in the game and they utilized it to perfection. They were able to set up their offensive schemes easily which benefited them greatly as the game went along.

On defense, they controlled the pace of play as well despite not having possession of the ball. They were able to execute their systems on defense and when the final buzzer sounded, they took a second to admire their handy work.

They now look ahead to their next game against Fayetteville on Tuesday, Nov. 28, on their home court.
