Parents as Teachers of Rural South Central Texas (formerly Parents as Teachers Schulenburg-Weimar) celebrated National PAT Day on Nov. 8.

Teachers, students and families wore masks for the theme “Unmasking Potential with PAT” to spread awareness of the program.

A proclamation was also signed by Mayor Milton Koller recognizing PAT in the community.

PAT has served over 827 families with 1,264 children since 2002 in the Weimar/Schulenburg area with two main goals. The first is helping families give children the best possible start in life. The second is supporting parents in their roles as their child’s first and most influential teacher.

For parents with children 5 years old or younger that would like to be part of PAT or would like more information, please contact at 979-743-6584 or email [email protected].
