Kloesel also contributed to the rushing attack as well as he recorded 32 yards and a touchdown on Thursday night. The Wildcats’ defense also played a big role in Thursday’s victory.

While the offense was executing at a high level the defense was controlling the pace of the game. The Eagles’ offense experienced the opposite of the Wildcats successful offense because the Wildcats’ defense completely shut down the field.

They also were able to take the ball away multiple times leading to scores by the defense. The Wildcats confidence grew because of this, and they kept that pressure up for the entire game.

With a high flying and effective offense coupled with a defense that was playing hard and taking the ball away the Wildcats found themselves with a 35-0 lead at halftime. Sitting comfortably with the lead the Wildcats started to chip away at the clock on offense while the defense stayed on the hunt.

The Wildcats added on touchdown in the third quarter and two touchdowns in the second quarter to extend their lead late. But the second half was about the defense.

The Eagles threw everything at the Wildcats’ defense, but they were prepared for any situation they found themselves in. As more time ticked off the clock the performance of the defense shined even brighter closing the game out with their shutout still going strong on the scoreboard.

When the final buzzer rang the Wildcats began to celebrate their most recent accomplishment being crowded the Bi-District Champions.

The Wildcats now look ahead to their next matchup against the La Villa Cardinals at the Cotton Picker Stadium in Robstown, TX.
