The Rice Raiders lost their final game of the season 37-7 on the road to East Bernard on Friday, Nov. 3.

The Raiders struggled to hang onto the ball, having three interceptions and one fumble on Friday night leading to scores for East Bernard.

East Bernard secured three first half interceptions that helped them establish their early lead over the Raiders. They took full advantage of all three interceptions and tunred all of them into pointds that helped extend their lead.

The game started off strong for the Raiders as they were able to establish their rushing attack and catch East Bernard a little flat footed. East Bernard quickly adjusted and started to contain the Raiders rushing attack throughout the game.

The Raiders’ defense was not as prepared for the game as East Bernard’s offense gashed the Raiders’ defense at every opportunity. East Bernard did most of their damage through the air, throwing for 278 yards in Friday’s game.

This led to East Bernard jumping out to an early lead that they never let go of and did not even allow a response until the fourth quarter. East Bernard was sitting with a large lead at halftime and tried to run down the clock as much as possible in the second half to collect a victory over the Raiders.

The Raiders were able to find the endzone and avoid being shutout in the fourth quarter all thanks to their ability to run the football at a high level. Kor’Dae Johnson and Dyren Johnson were a big part of the Raiders success in the running game as they combined for 350 rushing yards on Friday night.

Dyren Johnson accounted for a large chunk of those yards racking up 197 yards on 23 carries while Kor ’Dae Johnson was able to find the endzone. Johnson carried the ball 11 times for 53 yards and was able to score the Raiders only touchdown Friday night late in the fourth.

East Bernard responded by scoring one more touchdown and adding a field goal to make the score 37-7 and close out the game.

As the clock ticked down the Raiders listened to their school song one final time on the football field as they now looked towards the future and built from the many lessons, they learned this season.
