Dear Editor:
Why is it that the air raid sirens in towns across the county are not used to alert us when a dangerous straight-line wind or twister comes such as Eagle Lake experienced Jan. 24? There are deputies and a dispatch in place that can report the weather coming in. Those sirens were not just for air raids or to summon to fight fire. Major towns such as Dallas have many sirens and use them every time a tornado is forming to alert folks who may not be watching the sky. Something for the city councils to consider?
