COLUMBUS – The Habitat for Humanity organization held their second Pumpkin Patch fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 28 as people from all over the county came to contribute and enjoy the fall festivities. Entry was free for those who attended as Habitat looks to make the annual event a staple in Colorado County.

The proceeds earned from sales and donations went directly to Habitat’s charity fund as they look to expand their capabilities in terms of helping those in need build or repair their homes. At the end of the day, Habitat had raised over $880 in funds to contribute to their cause of providing affordable and quality housing.

The annual event features family fun with an emphasis on the kids each year as kids take part in pumpkin and face painting, balloons and music. DJ Johnny Loco provided the music backdrop for the event, and the CISD Culinary Arts program supplied the food.

Concurrently, Habitat’s Scarecrow Auction fundraiser also neared a close as the bidding completed at the end of the night on Monday, Oct. 30.

Habitat for Humanity is donating their extra and unused pumpkins for free outside of their location
