Halloween Carnival week hits St. Anthony this week. The PTC and families are busy as they prepare to host the annual event this coming Saturday, Oct. 28.

The Carnival will begin with the Costume Contest at 5 p.m. on the outdoor stage.

Sign-up begins at 4:30 p.m.

Food, fun and frights take place all evening, including Trick or Treat Lane, games, country store, silent and live auctions, and a raffle. The evening concludes with the famous Punk-N-Rock performance by the seventh and eighth grade students.

This week, St. Anthony students have been participating in Red Ribbon Week activities like dressing each day to fit a theme. On Friday, Oct. 27, they will wear boots to “give drugs the boot”.

At last week’s Homecoming pep rally, Spanish teacher Tracy Theut, Principal Shanna Collins and Father James Dvorak all got “pied” for the school’s fundraiser.

Over $440 was raised last week in the PTC’s ongoing “Pie the Teacher” fundraiser.

The Saints Football team won their Homecoming game against St. Michael and celebrated with other junior high students at the Homecoming Dance later that evening.

Saints Football will take on St. Joseph in Yoakum tonight at 6pm to complete their season. Lady Saints volleyball will end their season against Our Lady of the Gulf at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 26 at home.

SAS seventh graders will hold their Class Mass on Oct. 26. The Children’s mass is held each Friday at 8:15 a.m.

“Children too are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb, a reward.” Psalm 127:3
