St. Anthony Homecoming, sports, fundraisers

St. Anthony School Homecoming is on Wednesday, Oct. 18. Mums, garters and lots of orange are all over campus as the Saints football team takes on St. Michael of Weimar on Cardinal field at 6 p.m. Students at the Oct. 18 Homecoming pep rally will see either Tracy Theut, Shanna Collins or Fr. James Dvorak get “pied”, depending on whose jar collects the most money.

Over $237 was raised last week in the “Pie the Teacher” fundraiser. SAS Counselor Jenna Crosby was “pied” in the face by 5K student Jack Farr last week.

Lady Saints volleyball will head to Shiner for games against St. Ludmila on Oct. 19.

Last week, students in 3k-1st grade visited the CVFD station to learn about fire safety. The firemen gave the excited kids a ride back to school in the back of a firetruck.

Look for SAS Halloween Carnival posters at businesses around town. Students’ own hand-designed posters have been used for years to advertise the event that always takes place on the last Saturday in October.

St. Anthony held a poster contest with the winners from each grade receiving a ribbon and free tickets for the carnival.

The children’s masses will now be led by a mix of students from grades 4K-8 each Friday at 8:15 a.m. St. Anthony will have an early release on Friday, Oct. 20 at 1:15 p.m.
