LA GRANGE — Diane Rose, known as the “Amazing Quilter,” presented to the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild on Jan. 24.
Rose demonstrated her various techniques of quilting with ease, according to a release.
The Guild said Rose spoke to the crowded room with humor and left everyone inspired by her quilts. Rose, who has been blind since 1984, taught herself quilting in 1989 and has made over 1,100 quilts including for Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and President George W. Bush.
The CVQG meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 East Pearl St., Room A East. The meetings are open to the public and begin at 6 p.m. on even months and 10 a.m. on odd months.
