The Rice raiders suffered a big loss on Friday to the Boling Bulldogs by a score of 52-0 in Boling, TX.

The Raiders biggest issue Friday night was the inability to keep the football in their possession.

The Raiders fumbled the football seven times six of which were recovered by the Bulldogs putting them behind the eight ball for most of the game. The Raiders defense had to defend short field a lot of the time they took the field and with the offense lacking production they ran out of gas early.

The Bulldogs took advantage of the exhausted Raider defense by putting point so the board every chance they got and rode that momentum throughout the game. The Raiders defense secured an interception to give the team some life in the game, but the Bulldogs defense just smothered the Raiders offense.

D’Ner i y an Ful le r jumped in front of a route to intercept a ball for the Raiders to get the crowd fired up, but things just were not bouncing the Raiders way. The offense took the field looking to get something going.

Unfortunately, the Bulldogs did not allow the Raiders offense to do anything. The Raiders gained only 53 yards of total offense as the young Raiders were handed another loss.

With only a handful of seniors on the roster the Raiders are going through some growing pains this season and have been learning hard lessons each game. The Raiders are piecing together what it takes to play at the varsity level every week and have been improving every week.

This loss for the Raiders was ugly, and those happen from time to time with young teams, but they have plenty of time to continue to build their confidence. The Raiders are searching for their third district win of the season and with two games left they will look to secure it and continue to lay their foundation down for the future.

The Raiders will have the opportunity to enjoy home field advantage when they welcome in Van Vleck on Friday, Oct. 20, where they will look to sail towards their third district win.
