COLUMBUS – Due to Columbus Day closings for government, the County Commissioners Court had their meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to discuss and vote on a few different items that may have an impact amongst the general population of Colorado County. Below are a few of the main takeaways from a productive meeting:

Residents selected for jury duty will be paid at least $20 on the first day and at least $58 for each following day. After paying the jurors, the county is reimbursed $14 for the first day and $52 for each following day.

• South Logan Park Drive in Sheridan will be closed between Main Street and Avenue C on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for the Sheridan Community Fall Festival.
