Support for Cards leads to competition

What started as a notso- simple window painting at The First State Bank in Columbus to support the Cardinals quickly became a friendly competition amongst businesses in town.

Columbus State Bank accepted the challenge, followed by A Creative Touch, A Brighter Day Child Care, The Dewberry Café, Keyser Market, Leyco Real Estate, Columbus Outfitters, Harrell Dentistry, John John’s 2 Go, The Silver Barn, Trinity Logistics, and Dairy Cone.

The Columbus Chamber of Commerce provided a Cardinal Spirit Trophy and opened a voting process on their Facebook page. The trophy will be an annual award that will pass from the prior year’s winner to the next winner.

After the vote count, The First State Bank emerged victorious and was the first recipient of the Columbus Cardinal Spirit Award. John John’s 2 Go followed with a close second place, and Trinity Logistics and Harrell Dentistry tied for third.

Take a “spirited” drive around town and check out all the entries. The Columbus businesses did a great job showing their Cardinal Spirit. Go Big Red!
