COLUMBUS – The Columbus Christian Women’s Organization contributed some charitable donations around town after the success of their Sept. 23 fundraiser “Art Tiffin” at the Live Oak Art Center.

Artists from the region gather to paint recreations of “well-known impressionist era paintings” and auction off the final products to a crowd of art enthusiasts. Several paintings were sold as the organization raised “Quick Funds” to donate to organizations around the city.

The CCWO donated to the Nesbitt Memorial Library, the Boys & Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, the Live Oak Art Center Kids Program and the Youth and Family Services location. Each of these entities were awarded their donations within the week as the CCWO personally delivered checks to their physical locations.

The library received a $500 check after the purchase of Tracey Wegenhoft’s painting by Barbara Peterman. Melissa Parker purchased Tyler Kay’s painting which led to the Boys and Girls club receiving $450 for their “Shop with a Cop” program. Pastor and Director for Youth and Family Services Daniel Poré painted in both sessions and received a check for over $1300 in contributions to the youth organization. Habitat for Humanity received $1200 after Toni Conner painted in both sessions. The Live Oak Art Center Kids Program received $600 for the painting done by Amanda Danning and purchased by Sharon Wegenhoft.

The CCWO plans to meet on Dec. 7. At Glidden Baptist Church annex to award more donations from the funds raised at the “Art Tiffin” event. They meet the first Thursday of each month at 11:30 a.m.
