The fall livestock judging season in Texas officially began with the Livestock Judging Contest hosted by the Colorado County Fair on Sept. 9.
Members of the Colorado County 4-H organization have attended three livestock judging contests since the start of the season and found success at each outing.
Notable achievements include: • Colorado County Fair – 14th High Point Junior Team, 26th High Point Junior Team, 31st High Point Junior Team, 3rd High Point in County Team
• Guadalupe County Fair – 12th High Point Junior Team, 4th High Point Junior Individual Swine – Carlee Siefert
• Washington County Fair – 3rd High Point Junior Team, 12th High Point Junior Team, 31st High Point Intermediate Team Colorado County 4-H currently has 17 members participating in livestock judging practices and contests.
Students in the 3rd through12th grades who are interested in becoming part of Colorado County 4-H to participate in activities like livestock judging are asked to call the Colorado County Extension Office at 979-732-2530.
