St. Anthony looks forward to October events

St. Anthony benefitted from some charitable donations as The Knights of Columbus Council #2971 held a fried pork steak drive through meal to benefit St. Anthony School and the Catholic Daughters. Court Mary Queen of the Snows provided desserts for the event. All the proceeds will go toward the construction of a new fence surrounding the large playground on the school grounds.

This week, St. Anthony classes are participating in the annual Rosary Congress which are held in the Diocese of Victoria from Oct. 1 to Oct. 8.

The rosary is recited during Eucharistic adoration every hour somewhere in the diocese for every day of the week.

St. Anthony Church will hold its Fall Festival Church Picnic Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Columbus Hall. The public is invited to come out and enjoy a day full of food, fun and fellowship.

There will be a PTC meeting on Oct. 10 at 4 p.m. in the St. Anthony cafeteria. This meeting is important as the PTC plans their annual Halloween Carnival which will be held on Oct. 28.

The regular Friday Children’s Mass will be led by the 2nd grade on Oct. 6 at 8:15 a.m. There will be no school on Oct. 9 in observance of Columbus Day.

“How good it is, how pleasant, where the people dwell as one!” (Psalm 133:1)
