CJHS Lady Cards take on Brenham tourney

The CJHS seventh grade and eighth grade Lady Cards volleyball A-teams participated in the Brenham Middle School Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 16. It was a double-elimination tournament.

The CJHS seventh grade and eighth grade Lady Cards volleyball A-teams participated in the Brenham Middle School Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 16. It was a double-elimination tournament.

The eighth-grade team finished the tournament at 3-1, beating two schools from the 4A division: Giddings, Bellville, as well as 2A Weimar. They lost to Brenham in the second game but finished the tournament strong.

The seventh-grade team placed second at the tournament. They beat Giddings, 4A Brenham, and Bellville before going three sets with 5A A&M Consolidated Middle School. The Lady Cards lost the first set 25-18, won the second set 25-10, and lost the third set 15-8.

On Monday, Sept. 18, the JH Lady Cards played the Edna Rustlers at home.

The seventh-grade B-team won in a sweep 25-18, 25-23. The eighthgrade B-team won 25-12, 25-18. The seventh-grade A-team won 25-15, 25-19. The eighth-grade A-team won 25-11, 25-13.

The CJHS Lady Cards will be on the road, traveling to Industrial on Sept. 25.
