EAGLE LAKE – The main fundraising event for the Eula & David Wintermann Library was a resounding success as they organized the 44th annual Auction and Benefit as well as a dinner at the community center.
The event is the library’s main source of funding each year as they accept donations to be auctioned off in a traditional auction as well as a silent auction. All of the proceeds go towards maintaining the operations of the library throughout the year.
Todd Krenek provided the voice for the main auction as he led the proceedings during that portion of the event. Along with a chicken fried chicken dinner, the event also featured the fundraising game, “The Last Man Standing” prior to the start of the auction.
The event raised over 66 thousand dollars for a grand total of $66, 482. The funds were a combination of the dinner tickets sold, donations to participate in the Last Man Standing game, purchases at the Bakery Booth, the silent and live auctions as well as various monetary donations.
The total cleared last year’s earnings of $59,372 as the event drew some of the most attendees the event had ever seen in its history. Among those in attendance were police officers, church officials as well as city officials such as City Manager Charles Johnson.
