The Colorado County Fair brought a lot of excitement for St. Anthony School students recently.

The SAS Academic Rodeo Team won 1st place in the Colorado County Fair Academic Rodeo, Junior High Division. Team members included Charly Spanihel, Joshua Newman, Deacon Barten, and Jacob Muzny. Colette Harrell and John Foster served as alternates for the team.

St. Anthony’s 5K, 1st and 2nd graders took a morning field trip to experience the event at the fairgrounds last Friday, Sept. 15. Students viewed exhibits on honeybees, butterflies, dairy cows and chick hatching. The students engage in “hands on” learning when they planted seeds and met animals in the petting zoo. The students burned off some energy in the inflatable corn maze, watched some performers from Lil Plunkett’s Circus and were able to see their own artwork on display.

The SAS Ambassador officers were named this week. Logan Glueck will serve as President, Jacob Muzny as Vice-President, Parker Pilat as Secretary, and Colette Harrell will serve as Chaplain.

The Saints football team takes on St. Michael Sept. 20 at Wildcat Stadium in Weimar at 5:30 p.m. Lady Saints A team will play in Faith Academy’s volleyball tournament this Saturday, and the B team will play in St. Rose’s tournament. Both volleyball teams will play St. Michael on Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. in the SAS Gym.

The regular Friday Children’s Mass will be led by the 4th graders on Sept. 22 at 8:15 a.m.

“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” (Mark 9:37)
