Troy W. Neisner, a long-time officer for Colorado County and Chief Deputy for the County Sheriff’s department, has announced his retirement from the position with a release to the press on Sept. 13.

Troy W. Neisner, a long-time officer for Colorado County and Chief Deputy for the County Sheriff’s department, has announced his retirement from the position with a release to the press on Sept. 13.

With his departure effective immediately after the release, Neisner also announced that he will be accepting a position with the Columbus ISD Police Department. The move is just another one of the many recent changes for county school districts as they place a heightened emphasis on school safety and security.

While the Sheriff’s department looks to replace Neisner at the position of Chief Deputy, Neisner has announced that he “will make [himself] available to assist the Sheriff’s office while they make this transition.”
