BROOKSHIRE – The Weimar cross-country team had a strong performance at the Royal High Schoolhosted meet. Every runner who competed picked up their personal bests this season as they finished with several top placements in the competition. Both the boys and the girls were represented in the top 10, and a few others were just outside of the top 10 as Weimar completed a strong outing as a team.

The girls had one of their top performances of the season as they had many claim top positions and helped the team take second place. The only team with a higher point total was Waller, a team from the 5A division. Faith Cantwell had the top finish for Weimar, taking the only top-five spot with a fifth-place finish after her performance. Tate Griffin placed in ninth to take another top 10 position for the Ladycats. Alazay Moreno had her best performance of the season with a 10th place finish in the race. Addie Zinnante just missed out on a top 10 performance by taking 11th place for Weimar. Brooke Ohnheiser was just behind Zinnante with a 12th place finish to claim a sixth medal for the Ladycats.

The boys were represented by just a single runner in the varsity and junior varsity divisions. However, they still performed well as each boy in the race took a top 10 placement. Troy Cantwell, the varsity runner, took 10th place after a strong performance. Ty Chmelik ran his first-ever cross-country competition against the JV boys and claimed fifth place as a strong start to his career.
