COLUMBUS — After a summer hiatus, the Columbus Garden Club and its new officers resumed meetings in September.

They declared the theme of 2023-24 as “Planting for Our Birds of the Post Oak Savannah and Making a Difference!”

In the months ahead, speakers and chat sessions will showcase the importance of birds to gardens and what plants to sow in Colorado County.

The club meets 9:30 a.m. the second Wednesday of each month at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 Veterans Drive in the Lighthouse building.

Sessions will continue through May.

The officers, installed in June, include Nancy Galloway, second vice president; Velma Harrington, reporter and historian; Jennie Pritchett, secretary; Patti Schindler, treasurer; Regena Williamson, first vice president; and Janet Johnson, president.

Their terms expire in 2025.
