Live Oak Center hosts free after school art classes

Students from kindergarten to eighth grade will have an opportunity to learn more about art and practice different crafts at the Live Oak Art Center in Columbus.

Students from kindergarten to eighth grade will have an opportunity to learn more about art and practice different crafts at the Live Oak Art Center in Columbus.

Starting on Sept. 6, classes will be every Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. until Dec. 14 for the fall semester. Classes will return on Jan. 10 to start the spring semester and run until May 30.

Mrs. Kelli Hickman will be running the Wednesday evening classes with students from third grade to the eighth grade. Thursdays will be taught by Mrs. Traci Edmond for the kindergarten to second grade students.

The event is free for students in the county throughout the semester. To attend, parents will need to register their student on the Live Oak Art Center website under the classes and events section. For more information, call 979732-8398 or search their website at www.liveoakartcenter.
