Weimar High cross-country girls take third place

VAN VLECK – The Weimar cross-country team has continued their strong performance this season with another quality outing on Aug. 30. The Ladycats led the way for the team as they had four runners finish in the top 30 places.

Faith Cantwell took the top spot for Weimar with 18th place after finishing with the race with a time of 14 minutes and 22 seconds. Just milliseconds later was Tate Griffin who took 19th place as the next-highest finisher for the Ladycats. Addie Zinante claimed another top-25 spot with 25th place after finishing the race in just under 15 minutes.

Alazay Moreno finished in 36th place for the Ladycats, finishing under 15 and-a-half minutes to secure her placement. Emily Guzman was not far behind as she took 38th place for the Ladycats. Brooke Ohnheiser took 44th place while Karen Martinez and Katharina Chaloupka took 48th and 50th place respectively to take the final top-50 spots for Weimar.

Maya Fain rounded out the performance for the Ladycats with 54th place at the meet.

Weimar has two competitions this week as they take on the Waco Midway on Sept. 6 before travelling to Galveston for the Galveston Ball on Sept. 8.
