EAGLE LAKE — Auctioneer Todd Krenek will be the star of the show at the Eagle Lake Friends of the Library Annual Dinner and Auction Sept. 23, organizers said.
The live auction and more to benefit the Eula & David Wintermann Library will be at the Eagle Lake Community Center, 100 N. Walnut Ave.
According to a release, “Todd has that kind of magnetic personality that causes him to never meet a stranger. He was born and raised in Garwood … and went to Rice Consolidated (Independent School District) schools throughout his early years, graduating from Rice High School.”
Krenek has served in the Garwood Volunteer Fire Department and as an emergency medical technician for more than three decades, and is an independent owner and buyer of land and cattle, organizers said.
He “has the heart of a Texas rancher,” the release added. “He has been in the car business for years. In fact, during the many auto auctions he has experienced, he was bit by the ‘Auction Bug,’ figuring that because he had the gift of gab, he could do that, too.”
According to Krenek’s wife, Lisa, the couple attended a fundraiser 13 years ago and the auctioneer didn’t show up, so Todd Krenek stepped in.
