If you’ve ever been looking for a sword to wield as a mighty Highland warrior, this 1746 Scottish Basket-Hilt single- edged Backsword is for you!

Jeff Cunkleman, member of the Eula and David Wintermann Library Board is pictured here with his Scottish Basket Hilt Backsword and scabbard. It is an exact replica of a real 18th century backsword which has been updated with modern-day materials. Jeff has donated the sword and it’s leather covered scabbard as a live auction item during the Friends of the Library Annual Dinner and Auction to be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023. “Aye, Laddies and Lassies, you best be planing to bid on this treasure!”

You are invited to enjoy Free wine and beer during the social hour when you can purchase delicious Home-made Goodies at the Bakery Booth; a down-home dinner of Chicken Fried Chicken and 3 sides provided by Monster Bites.
