This season’s Weimar Wildcats were led by a group of now-graduated seniors who made large contributions to their strong regular season and their bi-district championship victory. The upperclassmen made an impact on both defense and offense as they helped the Wildcats stay competitive throughout the season. One player for Weimar received special recognition by the Texas Sports Writers Association after an all-around season for the Wildcats. Brady Henke, graduated senior from the Class of 2023, got the attention of the TSWA and was officially named to the Blue Bell 2A All-State First Team.

Henke played many roles for the Wildcats this season as he took the lead in several areas on both defense and offense for the Wildcats. He was one of the team’s top hitters as well as one of their top pitchers. His main defensive position, as well as the position he received recognition for, was at the shortstop as he held down the middle of the infield. TSWA recognized his ability at shortstop and received the First Team distinction. Henke made several impactful improvements from his junior year season to his senior season for the Wildcats. He jumped from being an honorable mention on the Blue Bell All-State Team his junior year to earning the top distinction in his final year at Weimar.

Henke occupies the Blue Bell First Team with a few players in his district as well. Two Shiner players also earned their way to the First Team. Henke was the only Weimar Wildcat to receive All-State honors this season.
