The Eagle Lake Noon Lions Club recently welcomed program speakers Ashley Pitre and Joseph Torres, new residents of Eagle Lake and owners of the nutritional smoothie shop “Down On 90.”
The Lions Club said the couple shared that as they were driving through Eagle Lake on their way to San Antonio, they wondered if they could make a positive impact on downtown Eagle Lake while living in the area. In a year and a half, Pitre and Torres redesigned and remodeled the old Royal Cleaners building, turning it into a friendly wi-fi café with an energetic nutritional club atmosphere, according to a release.
The Lions said every person who opens their doors is greeted with a shoutout, “Welcome to the Club!” Their menu displays a variety of super smoothies, signature coffees and frappes, plus deluxe waffles, protein bars and bites.
The Lions said Pitre and Torres give back to the community by volunteering at the Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry and offering customers free in-house Fitness Days. They also offer a “Wednesday Women Walking in Faith” group open to anyone who wants to practice a healthy lifestyle by becoming more active.
